Life is inherently dynamic, and change is the only constant. Yet, even when we anticipate or welcome transitions, they can still leave us feeling disoriented and off-kilter. Whether it’s the challenges of new motherhood, a career shift, a relationship transition, the loss of a loved one, or the excitement of starting a new job or becoming an expat, these periods of flux can be both exhilarating and overwhelming. It’s during these moments that we crave a sense of grounding and stability, a way to reconnect with ourselves and navigate the unknown with resilience.
The ancient Hawaiian practice of Lomi Lomi can be very helpful during those periods of our life. As a Lomi Lomi practitioner and facilitator of retreats and trainings, I’ve witnessed countless individuals journeying through life’s transitions, facing moments of profound change, uncertainty, and transformation.
Temple Lomi Lomi is more than just a massage technique; it’s a holistic healing modality that encompasses body, mind, emotions, and spirit. Deeply rooted in the indigenous Hawaiian tradition, this ancient practice honors the interconnectedness of all things and seeks to restore harmony within oneself and with the world around us. Temple Lomi Lomi facilitates deep relaxation, the release of tension, and energetic realignment.
Amid life’s transitions, our bodies accumulate tensions in our muscles, joints, and other tissues; life energy can’t flow freely, causing blockages. We may feel overwhelmed and disconnected from our vitality. The Lomi Lomi practice is a powerful yet gentle tool that helps unravel these physical and energetic knots, inviting us to surrender into a state of profound relaxation and rejuvenation. As a practitioner, I’ve witnessed many times not only relief from the physical discomfort of my clients but also a sense of inner peace and clarity restored even after only one 2-hour-long session of Lomi Lomi.
It’s not just about addressing surface-level symptoms; it delves deep into the underlying patterns and emotions that may be holding us back from embracing change fully. During a session, old wounds may surface, buried emotions may be released, and layers of conditioning may unravel. It’s a process of shedding the old to make way for the new, of letting go of what no longer serves us to make space for new beginnings, growth, and profound transformation.

Embracing Motherhood with Lomi Lomi
This is Rachel’s story, which I share here with her permission and as an encouragement for other new mums.
Rachel, a first-time mother, was filled with a whirlwind of emotions as she welcomed her newborn baby into the world. Amidst the overwhelming joy and love she felt for her child, Rachel also grappled with feelings of exhaustion, uncertainty, and self-doubt. Adjusting to the demands of motherhood, she found herself struggling to prioritize self-care and reconnect with her own needs amidst the constant demands of caring for her baby. Seeking support, Rachel turned to me and the Temple Lomi Lomi practice.
During our conversation before the session, she shared her experiences of sleepless nights, breastfeeding challenges, and the rollercoaster of emotions that came with new motherhood. Then after the session, she shared with me her experience. As I massaged her tired muscles and held space for her emotions, she felt a sense of relaxation wash over her, as if a weight had been lifted from her shoulders. Through the nurturing touch of Temple Lomi Lomi, she found solace in knowing that she was not alone on her journey and that it was okay to ask for help and support when needed. We had two following sessions, after the first one, and with each of them, Rachel felt more and more grounded, centered, and empowered to embrace the joys and challenges of motherhood with grace and resilience. Temple Lomi Lomi became her sacred space where she could nurture herself, replenish her energy, and deepen her bond with her baby, knowing that she was supported by the unconditional love and aloha spirit of the practice.
